Rio+20+Soup Benefit Gig @ The ANU Food Coop

Rio+20+Soup - Benefit gig, film screening and lecture at the ANU Food Coop

The ANU Rio+20 Delegation, led by delegate Karina Bontes-Forward, held a benefit gig at the ANU Food Coop to raise funds for the delegation's activities.

Karina & volunteers fed guests with some deliciously warming soup, bread and salad as they watched postgraduate delegate Katherine Aigner's moving film about nuclear bomb testing in Australia and the impact it had on indigenous communities. Katherine will be presenting her film at an International Film Festival happening in Rio at the same time as the conference.

The rio+20+soup evening was also thankful to Dr James Prest, lecturer in environmental law from the ANU College of Law, for coming to update guests on the challenges and opportunities that we face moving towards Rio+20.

Thank you to Drew Walkey and Hashemoto for their wonderful performances and for making the night so special, and for all who donated to this important student project.
